Julie Walker has been on my TBR reading list for a while with her Black Knights Inc series, but as it currently stands at 8 books, not one I have had the time to jump into. So I was excited to see a new series starting, especially one about former Navy SEALs. Yum!
When I first started the book, I was immediately sucked in - every interruption was a growl worth offense. There was just something about these guys that hit every last one of my squee buttons. I kept giggling over and over again at their antics and their interpersonal relationships with each other. And that was before Olivia even showed up to put Leo through his paces.
I couldn't believe how fast the story flowed. I could "see" it all in my minds eye and between the action scenes and the snappy dialogue, I was shocked when I did a time check and realized the book was almost over! How could this be? I wasn't ready for their story to be done. Thank goodness there are at least 5 more stories coming in this series. We didn't get into too much of the treasure hunt for the Santa Cristina, which makes me think that this is going to be a series long quest - and I just can't wait. *rubbing hands together*
This book was a fantastic read, and after this I am going to have to bump the Black Knights Inc series to a higher ranking in my TBR pile. If this is a prime example of Ms. Walker's writing style, I am sold. I gave this book 5 stars for a frolicking good time on the high seas.
Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review the book.
